Öko-Test: Face masks under scrutiny

Öko-Test has examined 25 cleansing masks. Masks with mineral clay as well as peel-off masks were tested.

Öko-Test primarily criticized the heavy metals contained. In its statement dated 07.11.2016, the BVL defines the technically unavoidable levels for these elements, which were partially exceeded by the masks.

Furthermore, the following substances were criticized:

-          Formaldehyde releasers

-          PEG derivatives

-          Halogenated organic compounds
