Stiftung Warentest tests nail polish – Nitrosamines detected

The nail polishes were tested by Stiftung Warentest for harmful substances, among other things. The elevated levels of nitrosamines were particularly noticeable. These can enter the products through nitrocellulose, which is often used in nail polish.

In the 27th session of the BfR Commission protocol, elevated nitrosamine levels were already reported. Contamination of raw materials was also mentioned as a reason here.

Furthermore, it was criticized that solvents were contained that were not declared. These, too, can enter the products through raw materials or degradation products.

We look forward to hearing from you.
