Children's Soaps in Test – April Issue Eco-Test

16 liquid soaps, specifically for children, were examined for residues and conformity with the Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 in the current Öko-Test issue.

Especially the fact that these products are used multiple times daily and on children requires a special focus regarding safety and possible residues. Except for 6 products, all children's soaps achieved at least a rating of good or very good.

The reasons for downgrading included:

-          Halogenated organic compounds

-          Preservatives Thiazolinones (CIT)

-          PEG and PEG derivatives

-          Claim “antibacterial” without special proof of effect

Do you want to regularly test your end products for residues and prohibited substances?

The BAV Institute advises you on the selection of suitable test parameters and is at your service in the Tentamus laboratory group with all necessary microbiological and chemical examinations with advice and assistance.
