Current statement from the German Food Association e. V. on the amendment of the Consumer Information Act (VIG) and the Food and Feed Code (LFGB)

The German Food Association has submitted a statement regarding the resolutions proposed by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate for amending the Consumer Information Act (VIG) and the Food and Feed Code (LFGB), Federal Council documents 657/19 and 658/19 dated December 13, 2019.

The association calls for a constitutionally compliant design and application of transparency regulations. This includes, for example, the publication of official control results (control barometer, hygiene traffic light, smiley labeling), § 40 paragraph 1a LFGB (official naming of company names in public in connection with allegations of violations of food law), and the Consumer Information Act (VIG).
