CVUA Stuttgart: Disinfection By-products in Drinking Water
The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) Stuttgart examined drinking water samples for disinfection by-products between 2016 and 2022.
Some of the substances mentioned are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as "possibly carcinogenic to humans".
The results from CVUA Stuttgart showed that all samples were inconspicuous in terms of trihalomethanes. In a few samples, the limit for chlorate and bromate according to the Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) was exceeded, which is why regular monitoring of drinking water samples is indispensable.
In our partner laboratories, we carry out tests for trihalomethanes, chlorate, bromate, and haloacetic acids.
Do you have questions about the microbiological and chemical investigation of drinking water? Our customer service will be happy to advise you.
