DGK: Information on Microbiology and Hygiene of Cosmetics
On the website of the DGK (Section 2 - Microbiology and Operational Hygiene), you will always find up-to-date and informative publications on the topic of microbiology and hygiene of cosmetics. All documents are freely accessible. In the past two years, statements on the following topics, among others, have been developed:
- Preservation Challenge Test for W/O Formulations
- Risks from Pluralibacter gergoviae
- Health Risks from Microorganisms in Cosmetics
- Microbiological Risks in the Use of Bar Soaps
The handbook "Operational Hygiene in Cosmetics" is also available in its 2nd updated edition.
This working group, with representatives from authorities, industry, and testing institutes, is currently led by Ms. Joelle Nussbaum from the BAV Institute.
