According to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment BfR, 90% of foodborne infections in recent years are attributable to Salmonella. As a cause of gastrointestinal diseases, Salmonella play a significant role worldwide. Common carriers of Salmonella are especially poultry, eggs, and pork.

Salmonella has been detected in sesame paste currently on sale. Therefore, the manufacturer is recalling the product. Consumers who have purchased the product are strongly advised against consumption.
