High demand for "Topf Secret"
On the online platform "Topf Secret" by foodwatch and FragDenStaat, there have already been several thousand requests for the publication of, for example, reports and results of food inspections.
Last week, we also reported on this controversial online platform (BAV News).
The high number of requests for publications under the Consumer Information Act (VIG) presents food inspection with a great challenge, and rightly so, the BLL e.V. points out in its circular BLL-054-2019 and in the press release dated 14.01.19 that attention must be paid to the lawful processing of individual VIG applications. This also means that attention must be paid to the right contained in § 5 paragraph 2 sentence 4 of the Consumer Information Act (VIG) to request the name and address of the applicant upon request.
