List suspected substances endocrine disruptors in cosmetics

Currently, there are a total of 28 substances and ingredients used in cosmetics that are under discussion, which may possibly act as endocrine active substances (EAS). These substances are hormonally active and can be harmful to health.

There is a discussion at the EU level about a possible ban or restriction. When and if a ban will come into effect in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 is currently unclear. Among others, these include:

• Benzophenone-3
• Triclosan and Triclocarban
• BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene)
• Propylparaben
• Benzyl Salicylate
