In Germany, according to the latest publication by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL), foods are only slightly contaminated with pesticides. This confirms the results from previous years. However, the contamination with pesticides depends on the origin of the products as well as the crop. For example, products from Germany and other EU countries are significantly less contaminated than those from non-EU countries. Commonly consumed foods such as carrots, potatoes, and apples rarely exceed the maximum levels, in contrast to rare crops such as chia seeds or pomegranates.

You can read the detailed report from the BVL here.

In our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct tests for pesticides. We provide fast and reliable results and are happy to advise you on the subject.
