NEW: Comparison of bacterial strains using MALDI-TOF

The BAV INSTITUT offers the opportunity to compare bacterial strains such as Listeria spp. or Listeria monocytogenes.

This allows conclusions to be drawn about the causes in the event of contamination or positive findings. Contamination sources can be quickly identified and eliminated, as strains from end products can be compared with strains from raw materials or from environmental investigations. This comparison of strains is carried out using the MALDI-TOF procedure. These results are available on the same day after the isolation of the strains, so that appropriate statements about potential contamination causes and corresponding preventive measures can be quickly initiated.

This possibility of comparing strains of isolated microorganisms is also possible with other germs such as Salmonella, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus... using the methods introduced at the BAV INSTITUT.
