New EEA study on Bisphenol A (BPA) published
The EEA (European Environment Agency) has published a study on the exposure of the EU population to the substance Bisphenol A (BPA) and its entry through food, cosmetics, and other product groups.
Bisphenol A is an industrial chemical widely used as a base substance for plastics. As a category 1B reproductive toxicant, BPA is subject to extensive restrictions (including Regulation (EU) 10/2011).
The study shows that BPA was detected in the urine of 92% of the individuals tested (study with 11 countries). Recently published health-concerning levels were partially exceeded.
The laboratories of the Tentamus Group test for Bisphenol A. We would be happy to advise you on all regulatory questions regarding this matter. We look forward to hearing from you!
