New proposals by the European Commission on MOAH/MOSH in food: BMEL invites for comments
The European Commission proposes three measures, including setting binding maximum levels and monitoring recommendations for MOSH. The BMEL allows for comments until 1/11/2024, while member states have been asked to express their views by 1/12/2024. A vote in this EP legislative period is not planned, so early comments are encouraged.
The Food Federation plans an online meeting on Tuesday, 1/9/2024, to conduct an initial analysis and coordinate a statement. Access details will be sent out before the date. Additionally, the Commission plans an online forum for industry representatives on 1/18/2024 to present measures already taken and planned to minimize issues. We will keep you informed.
