New regulation labeling allergenic fragrances in cosmetics

With Regulation (EU) 2023/1545, the labeling obligation for allergenic fragrances in cosmetics was significantly expanded last year. In addition to the substances already regulated in Annex III of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, new substances have been added, so that a total of 81 substances or natural extracts are required to be declared in the INCI list.

The declaration requirement for the new substances applies as before from a quantity of 10 ppm (leave-on products) or 100 ppm (rinse-off products).
