Pesticide residues in cosmetic products

Cosmetic raw materials of natural origin such as plant extracts, hydrolates, etc., can be a source of pesticide residues in cosmetic products. These residues are undesirable, partly prohibited under Annex 2 of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, and are only allowed in the product in trace amounts that are harmless to health and technologically unavoidable.

Consumers, as well as traders, expect products to be free from pesticide residues. Especially in the field of natural cosmetics or natural or organic products, the absence of such residues is a must!

Do you want to be sure or ensure that no pesticide residues are present in your products? Our Tentamus laboratories analyze a wide range of pesticide residues in both cosmetic raw materials and finished products with very low detection limits down to the range of a few µg/kg product or raw material.

More than 600 compounds are determined using a combined method (LC-MS/MS).
