Residues of heavy metals in cosmetics
Residues of heavy metals can be a problem in both raw materials and finished products. The metals that are toxicologically relevant and legally regulated include:
- Arsenic, antimony, lead, cadmium, and mercury.
For these metals, according to Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, they may only be present in technologically unavoidable residues! Additionally, they must not harm the health of the user at any time.
Furthermore, chromium (VI) and sweat-soluble nickel play a role in decorative products.
Have your finished products and raw materials tested for heavy metals. Document the safety of your products. The BAV Institute and its Tentamus laboratory partners analyze all the listed heavy metals using the latest methods.
