WarningMessagesSafetyGateApril2022-MicrobiologicalContaminationWithP.aeruginosa

For the month of April, the following reports were mentioned in the European rapid alert system Safety Gate for the category (the consequence is a public product recall or withdrawal from the market):

-          Several products showing contamination with the germ Pseudomonas aeruginosa

-          Possible risk of injury due to gas formation when opening (hydrogen peroxide)

-          Increased concentration of p-phenylenediamine (PPD)

-          Methylisothiazolinone and Chlorphenesin

The germ Pseudomonas aeruginosa belongs to the so-called specified microorganisms, which according to ISO 17516, must not be present in cosmetics.

The BAV Institute tests the microbiological quality of your cosmetics to meet the requirements of the Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. We also check all necessary chemical parameters as part of our international laboratory group Tentamus.
