50 years of Cosmetic Commission at the BfR

Allergic skin reactions, hormonally active substances in sunscreens, zinc-containing oral hygiene products, aluminum in antiperspirants, and much more were topics of the symposium "50 Years of the Cosmetics Commission: Science in the Service of Consumer Protection" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this panel. The symposium took place on October 16 in Berlin.

The Cosmetics Commission is one of a total of 15 BfR Commissions, where scientists address various issues related to the safety of cosmetic products. The safety, stability, and health safety of cosmetic products is the central requirement of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
