53 hand creams at Öko-Test now all without the fragrance Lilial
In the current December issue of the Öko-Test magazine, a total of 53 hand creams were thoroughly tested for possible residues and compliance with Regulation EC 1223/2009. Two-thirds of all products received a very good rating.
The criteria for potential downgrading include:
- Fragrance Lilial (INCI: Butylphenyl Methylpropional)
- Formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers such as Diazolidinyl Urea
- Paraffins and silicones
- Halogen organic compounds (AOX)
- Preservative Chlorphenesin
- Mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOSH/MOAH)
- PEG and PEG derivatives
- Recycled content (PCR) in packaging
Regularly check your cosmetic products and the raw materials used for the content of certain contaminants. BAV Institut will advise you in this regard and define sensible testing parameters specific to the product.
We also provide support for all regulatory questions in accordance with Regulation EC 1223/2009 and the Claims Regulation EU 655/2013. We look forward to your message.
