89th Conference of the ALTS published
The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) has published the resolutions of the 89th ALTS working conference (ALTS: Working group of experts in the field of food hygiene and foods of animal origin).
The following resolutions are included:
- Prominent images of fruits in connection with the highlighted indication "STRAWBERRY" or "BANANA" in the main display of a dairy product with only 0.1% fruit juice
- Designation "cooked ham" for cooked cured products from chicken
- Temperature requirements for sushi with raw fish, crustaceans and mollusks and/or parts thereof, as well as sashimi at the retail level
- QUID in meat products that are made using meat from various animal species
- Mechanical recovery of residual meat from larynx and trachea
- Defrosting notice for raw ham cubes made from originally frozen raw ham
- "...mett in the style of a fresh onion mett sausage" - differentiation of mett from fresh mett sausage/onion mett sausage
