Biocidal products: Effective protective agents with strict regulation

The EU Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) 528/2012 regulates the availability and use of biocidal products to combat harmful organisms while protecting the health of humans, animals, and the environment. This includes disinfectants, antimicrobial substances, and pest control products. 
  
Biocidal products may only contain active substances listed in an EU-wide valid list and must be approved before use. Each biocidal product must be authorized before being placed on the market and used. This requires a review of the safety and efficacy of the product.
