Fragrance substances in cosmetic products – Declaration according to Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009
Regulations for the declaration of fragrances in cosmetic products are stipulated in Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 (Cosmetics Regulation).
The fragrances listed in Annex III of the mentioned regulation must be declared for leave-on products from 10ppm and for rinse-off products from 100ppm.
Furthermore, fragrances such as Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) or Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (Lyral) are listed in Annex II and thus prohibited.
This year, a new regulation with further fragrances requiring declaration will be published. This includes an additional 61 substances.
Our institute, part of the Tentamus Laboratory Group, offers you the analysis of fragrances in cosmetic products. This applies to both current and future regulations.
