ShowerGelsInTheCurrentEco-Test-Issue
Öko-Test magazine closely examined 50 shower gels in the latest July issue. In addition to branded products, private labels were also represented, and 16 products came from the certified natural cosmetics sector.
The test spectrum included, among other things:
- allergenic fragrances
- formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers
- halogenated organic compounds
- PEG derivatives
All natural cosmetic products received a very good rating. 24 conventional shower gels received a good rating; the presence of PEG derivatives in all products led to a downgrading. While four products achieved a satisfactory rating and one product an adequate rating, four products were rated as sufficient. Formaldehyde/releasers and halogenated organic compounds were detected in one product, resulting in an inadequate rating due to the downgrading.
