Increased pesticide residues in paprika powder

In the recently published "Yearbook for 2025" by the magazine Öko-Test, 30 sweet paprika powders were closely examined. Almost half of the paprika powders analyzed showed elevated pesticide residues.

The maximum residue levels for pesticides in the EU are regulated under the Maximum Residue Levels Regulation (EC) No. 396/2005. Öko-Test particularly criticizes the excessive residues of glufosinate.
