Recallofseveralspicemixesagainduetocarcinogenicethyleneoxide

Residues of ethylene oxide, which is used as a fumigant among other things, in spices but also other foods have repeatedly led to recalls in recent years. Ethylene oxide can be carcinogenic.

As part of sampling, an increased residue content of ethylene oxide was detected in several spice mixtures. Since the use of ethylene oxide has been banned in the EU since 2011, the product is being recalled.

In the laboratories of the Tentamus Group, we regularly conduct tests for ethylene oxide. We provide you with fast and reliable results and are happy to advise you on all matters regarding product safety. Our customer advisors are at your disposal for any questions.
