HighAntibioticResistanceinSalmonellaandCampylobacter

According to a report by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the antibiotic resistance of Salmonella and Campylobacter bacteria remains high.

Campylobacteriosis was the most reported zoonosis in the EU in 2020 and the most common cause of foodborne illness. Campylobacter bacteria from humans and poultry continue to show a very high resistance to certain antibiotics used to treat some bacterial infections in humans.

Increasing resistance has also been observed in Salmonella enteritidis, the most common type of Salmonella in humans.

Although the findings and trends align with data reported in previous years, the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on the amount of data reported, particularly in relation to public health.

In our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct tests for Campylobacter and Salmonella.

We provide fast and reliable results.
For questions, our customer advisors are very pleased to assist you.
