Is identification always necessary when microorganisms grow in a cosmetic product?

The detection of germs in a cosmetic product always requires special attention. Contaminated raw materials, manufacturing defects, and even contamination of packaging materials can be the causes.

Regardless of the detected quantity, an identification should always be carried out. Only in this way can a risk assessment be conducted based on the number of microorganisms and the type of germ (risk group, potential hazard).
