CVUA Freiburg Annual Report 2021: 27 samples harmful to health, including samples contaminated with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes

The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) Freiburg published its annual report for 2021 at the end of August. This can be accessed on the CVUA website.

A total of approximately 40,000 samples were examined by CVUA Freiburg in 2021, including over 10,000 food samples. 16% of the examined samples were objected to. The main issues were deficiencies in labeling and presentation. However, 27 samples also had to be judged as harmful to health. In total, for 8 of these samples, the microbiological contamination (detection of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes over 100 CFU/g) was decisive for the objection.
