In the current study "Future Cosmetics" by the Zukunftsinstitut, it was shown within the Austrian population that neo-ecology represents a new trend in the cosmetics industry.

The trend of neo-ecology includes the following aspects:

• Regionality (e.g. local raw materials)
• Plant-based ingredients
• Sustainable packaging (motto: "reduce – reuse – recycle")
