New BfR Commission for Tattoo Inks
Tattoo inks must be microbiologically and chemically (e.g. regarding contents of heavy metals, dyes, etc.) safe. The requirements of the Tattoo Ink Regulation and the Regulation (EU) 2020/2081 must be complied with.
The task of the new Commission for Tattoo Inks is to advise the BfR regarding safety, composition, analysis, and manufacturing processes. The commission consists of various experts from different disciplines. This commission meets regularly, and we will keep you informed about this.
