New publication by the BfR – Beeswax wraps: What should you pay attention to? Pesticides and mineral oil components
A new publication with FAQs on the use and application of beeswax wraps can be found on the BfR website.
Beeswax wraps are cloths coated with beeswax and oil, and possibly resin. These components can unintentionally transfer substances to the food wrapped with the cloths. These substances can include components of printing inks, primary aromatic amines, mineral oil components, and pesticides.
The topic of microbiological contamination can also be a concern (adequate drying and cleaning).
The BAV Institute tests the safety of food and possible substance transfer. Contact us, we look forward to your message!
