Per- and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) – Proposal for Restriction submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)
In collaboration with other countries, the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment has studied the risks of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) for the environment and humans, as well as in cosmetics.
PFAS are considered persistent in the environment and accumulate, yet they are used in many products.
A restriction is to be enforced for all PFAS. A corresponding proposal for maximum levels is to be published by the ECHA on February 7, 2023.
The BAV Institute within the international Tentamus Laboratory Group tests for PFAS residues, including in cosmetics. Fast and reliable!
