RecallCosmeticSafetyGate–Pseudomonasaeruginosa
In June 2023, a cosmetic product was classified as hazardous to health and recalled accordingly through the EU rapid alert system. The reason for the recall was that the product was contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Due to its pathogenic properties (e.g., causing purulent infections), the DIN EN ISO 17516 standard for cosmetic products requires that Pseudomonas aeruginosa must not be detectable in 1g of the product.
Ensure the microbiological quality of your products, raw materials, and production water. Our institute tests according to ISO 17516 guidelines. In the event of contamination, we carry out identification using MALDI-TOF within a few hours.
