Recall: Listeria monocytogenes in cheese

Listeria monocytogenes increasingly plays an important role as an infectious agent, as the reported case numbers continue to rise.

Due to their wide distribution, listeria are regularly found in raw animal and plant foods (e.g., meat, poultry, milk, vegetables, fish, and seafood). But they also play a significant role in processed foods (e.g., meat and sausage products, smoked fish products, mixed salads).

Due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes, the official recall of two batches of a meat product has now been initiated. The publication was also made via the website lebensmittelwarnung.de.

You can find more information about Listeria monocytogenes, as well as other pathogenic germs such as Campylobacter and Salmonella, in our BAV fact sheets on our homepage.
