Recall: Salmonella in Helva

The notifications on www.lebensmittelwarnung.de provide a good overview of current issues related to food. The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) publishes, among other things, warnings about salmonella in food on this portal.

Due to the detection of salmonella, an official recall of the product "Sade Helva von Koska" has been announced.

Salmonella play a significant role as a cause of gastrointestinal infections worldwide. They can be transmitted through raw animal products, especially poultry, eggs, and pork. During illness, humans shed salmonella in their stool, and possibly for a long time afterward. These so-called "salmonella shedders" should not work in the production and sale of perishable foods, as transmission to food can occur if personal hygiene is inadequate. Salmonellosis is a classic food infection accompanied by symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and fever.

Further information on salmonella in food can be found, among other places, on our homepage

At the BAV Institute, we routinely conduct salmonella investigations. We provide fast and reliable results.
