Soap-free cleansing lotions tested by Öko-Test
In the current Öko-Test magazine, April 2021, a total of 20 soap-free wash lotions were closely examined. For these products, claims such as "pH-skin neutral", "mild cleansing", "preserves the skin's natural acid mantle" are often mentioned.
In the test, all cosmetics achieved at least a good rating except for three products; two products received satisfactory, and one product an adequate rating.
Reasons for downgrading included:
- Certain fragrances such as Lilial (Butylphenyl Methylproprional)
- PEG and PEG derivatives
- Propyl- and Butylparaben
- pH value outside the range of 4.1 to 5.8 specified in the GDCh datasheet
The BAV Institute within the international Tentamus Laboratory Group tests your products for the parameters of Öko-Test and beyond. We are also at your side with advice and support regarding claims and labeling.
