The new EU additive regulation in Regulation (EC) No. 1333/2008 previously allowed only a limited number of additives for use in meat preparations. Regulation (EU) No. 601/2014 now contains corresponding amendments. In the future, the so-called "carry-over" of additives, with the exception of colorants, will be permitted in meat preparations. Additionally, the approvals of additives for meat preparations are expanded in the new regulation, and various new approvals are established.
