After Aeromonas hydrophilia, now also milk recall due to Bacillus cereus

After Deutsche Milchkontor recalled reduced-fat milk in October, Bärenmarke and Weihenstephan are now also affected by a recall.

During microbiological routine controls, contamination with Bacillus cereus was detected in individual packages of whole milk (additional information can be found at www.bav-institut.de). These bacteria cause food intoxication symptoms such as diarrhea and/or vomiting.

As with the last recall, a defective component, this time a valve instead of a seal, was responsible for the contamination. It has since been replaced, and the goods from this period have been precautionarily blocked.

In our laboratory, we routinely conduct testing for presumptive Bacillus cereus. Our customer advisors are happy to discuss your HACCP and hygiene concepts with you because "prevention is better than cure."

Our customer advisors are available to answer any questions you may have.
