Allergen labeling of unpackaged goods - In BAV Newsletter 01/2015
On December 13th, 2014, the new FIR (Food Information Regulation; Regulation (EU) 1169/2011) came into force. This regulation, among other things, regulates the labeling of allergens. The individual EU member states have the option to regulate the implementation (how it must be declared) in their own regulations. In Germany, this was done with the Provisional Food Information Supplementary Regulation (VorlLMIEV) of December 12th, 2014. This provisional regulation aims to facilitate the labeling of allergens for unpackaged goods. This information is intended to show possibilities on how the regulation can be implemented in practice for unpackaged goods.
