Annual Report of the Examination Offices in Baden-Württemberg - In BAV Newsletter 02/2015

The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Offices (CVUA) in Baden-Württemberg have published a report on the results of food examinations. Out of the 15,863 food samples tested, 1,828 (11.5%) were found to be non-compliant and 796 (5.0%) were criticized. Thirty-seven (0.2%) of the samples were classified as harmful to health. 
The causes of these non-compliances were listeria (37.9%), VTEC/STEC (toxin-producing E. coli) (18.9%), salmonella (16.2%), histamine (10.8%), staphylococci (10.8%), clostridia (2.7%), and campylobacter (2.7%).
