Ban on TPO in UV-curable nail products from September 1, 2025
The substance TPO is used as a photoinitiator in UV-curing nail products and ensures faster curing. However, this ingredient was already classified as a CMR substance of category 1B under REACH some time ago. As a result, its use is considered no longer safe - a ban was the consequence.
This ban comes into effect on September 1, 2025, and is immediately valid. From this date, no new products containing TPO may be placed on the market, and products already in trade may not be further sold. The ban applies to both consumer and commercial products.
