Basic Requirements for the Microbiological Testing of Cosmetics – a New Article in the Latest SOFW Journal
In the January/February 2020 edition of the SOFW journal, a scientific article titled Basic Requirements for the Microbiological Testing of Cosmetics was published. The article was co-authored by Mr. Bernd Heinken (Symrise), Mr. David Melchior (BASF), as well as Ms. Joelle Nussbaum and Mr. Bernhard Fellenberg (both BAV Institute).
The following questions are explained:
- Basic requirements for conducting microbiological tests
- Does my product need to be microbiologically tested?
- Are there low-risk products and what should I consider regarding sampling?
- How often do I need to test my product and with which methods?
The BAV Institute provides comprehensive advice on the aforementioned topics and helps you bring safe cosmetic products to the market (fulfillment of the requirements of ISO 17516).
