BMEL: Ban on Sweeteners in Infant Teas to be Included in the Fruit Juice Ordinance
As part of the reduction and innovation strategy of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the use of sweeteners such as sugar, honey or fruit juice (concentrates) in so-called infant or toddler teas will be banned in the future.
The changes will be included in the Fruit Juice and Soft Drinks Ordinance over the course of the year. In this context, the name of the ordinance will also be changed to: "Ordinance on Fruit Juice, Some Similar Products, Fruit Nectar, Caffeinated Soft Drinks and Tea-Like Products for Infants or Toddlers."
