In the European Union (EU), more than 90,000 cases of salmonellosis are reported annually. According to EFSA estimates, salmonellosis in humans could cost the economy up to EUR 3 billion annually.
In 2015, salmonella was one of the most common causes of foodborne disease outbreaks (19.69%). It caused the most hospitalizations (1,766 admissions) as well as illnesses with fatal outcomes. Among them, salmonella in eggs led to the highest number of outbreak cases.
In our lab, we routinely perform this analysis. In 2017, BAV tested approximately 100,000 food samples for salmonella. We use various accredited methods for this, both rapid methods taking 24 hours with RT-PCR and classical methods.
We provide you with fast and reliable results.
