BVL extends glyphosate approvals until December 2024: Current changes in plant protection
The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) has extended the approvals for plant protection products containing the active substance glyphosate until December 15, 2024. This decision follows the recent renewal of the authorization for glyphosate according to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2660 until December 15, 2033. Companies currently using glyphosate-containing products must apply for an extension of approval within three months of the active substance authorization if they wish to continue offering the products on the market. The final approval end dates for glyphosate-containing products are expected to be published on the "Extensions of Approvals" page of the BVL website by January 2024 at the latest.
