Based on reports and evaluations from the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in recent months, it is clear that authorities are focusing on contamination with Campylobacter. In recent years, the number of people becoming ill from these bacteria has been steadily increasing. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the number significantly exceeds those affected by Salmonella.
