Careful handling of cosmetic products prevents microbial contamination
Cosmetics, like food, can spoil due to microbial contamination if they are not adequately protected by preservatives. Such contamination can potentially cause skin irritation, infections, or allergies.
Usually, it is the consumer who introduces most microorganisms into the cosmetic product. With a few simple tips, cosmetic products last longer:
- Carefully close after each use
- Do not remove product with dirty hands
- Thoroughly clean refill systems before reuse
The BAV Institute examines the microbiological quality of your products for your company according to the specifications of ISO 17516 and other accredited testing procedures. In case of germ growth, we can quickly and reliably identify the microorganism.
Furthermore, we conduct so-called in-use tests of cosmetics, where the product is deliberately contaminated and the microbiological quality is checked again at the end of its shelf life.
