Data collection for MOSH guideline values
In cooperation between ALB (working group "Food, Consumer Goods, Wine and Cosmetics" of the Länderarbeitsgemeinschaft Verbraucherschutz (LAV)) and BLL (German Federation for Food Law and Food Science), guideline values for mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOH = MoSH, MOSH analogs, and MOAH) in certain food groups are to be developed based on existing test results from monitoring and the food industry.
These guideline values are intended to serve as a recognized reference basis with recommended character for the assessment of MOH in individual products in the future. The assessment should also take into account the current state of production and packaging processes in the process chains. In this context, reference is made to the "BLL toolbox to prevent the entry of unwanted mineral oil hydrocarbons into food".
By introducing guideline values, a ubiquitous and technically unavoidable basic load of MOH in food is to be established and a unified assessment of food from the perspective of monitoring, the supply chain, and product testers is to be created.
We will keep you updated on further developments. Our customer advisors are very happy to assist you with any questions.
