Cosmetics - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) according to EN ISO 22716:2007

The Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products will become mandatory as of 11 July 2013 and will largely replace the existing national cosmetics legislation. Manufacturers of cosmetic products must have implemented the new requirements by this date.

The EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 requires in Article 8(1) that the manufacture of cosmetic products must be "in accordance with good manufacturing practice".

The requirements of this standard thus become mandatory for manufacturers. The primary aim of the GMP standard ("GMP Guideline") is to ensure a high level of product safety.
