Current News in the Safety Gate for Cosmetics - January 2022

The European Rapid Alert System Safety Gate regularly informs about non-food products that pose a potential serious health risk to consumers and do not comply with the strict requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009.

These reports are followed by a public recall or withdrawal from the market. For cosmetics, the following warnings were issued in January 2022:

-       Cosmetic wet wipes with the banned fragrance Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (Lyral)

-       Cosmetic wet wipes with a high load of bacteria and yeasts & molds (not in accordance with standard ISO 17516)

-       Face cream with Clobetasol Propionate (banned substance, corticosteroid)

-       Lotion with hydroquinone

Make your cosmetics market-compliant and have them regularly tested for prohibited substances. The BAV Institute helps you select suitable testing parameters and conducts tests for you quickly and reliably.
